Koha Question of the Week: What are Patron Hold Notes?

A system preference, OpacHoldNotes, if turned on will allow a patron to place a note on the item they are placing on hold.

Koha Question of the Week: Can a Drop Down Menu in Koha be Changed?

In this specific question, a library was talking about the options that appear in the Claims Return Module. When checking in an item that has been claimed returned, the default values in the drop-down menu are: found in a library or returned by the patron. If a library would like to add more values to this dropdown, they can! The majority (if not all) drop-down menus that are found in Koha are customizable through the Authorized Value function found in Administration.

Koha Question of the Week: What are Table Settings in Administration?

Table Settings are the configuration of the tables throughout Koha. Table Settings can be found in the Administration Module under "Additional Parameters". Koha gives libraries the flexibility to determine what columns are displayed in various places in Koha.

Koha Question of the Week: What Logs are Turned On?

There are two ways that a library can see what logs are turned on in Koha.

The first way is through the system preferences: Under Logs, then Logging. All possible logs are listed in this area.

The second way is through the logging tool itself. Logs can be found in the Tools Module. Once in the Logs, each log that is not currently turned on at your library will have a triangle with an exclamation point indicating that that log is not turned on.
