Aspen 23.10 brings easy UI updates to Discovery, new Symphony Self-Registration, and System Messages for LiDA

This month we identified the top look-and-feel updates that make Aspen look current and modern and made an easy way for Aspen Administrators to make all of those updates in one go!"

Aspen is highly customizable to allow libraries to create a catalog that matches their brand perfectly. However, Aspen is always releasing new features and updates to help libraries keep up with modern web development trends. In order to help libraries modernize their Aspen interface without forcing unwanted changes, the 23.10 Aspen release includes a special system message for Aspen administrators that will take them to a page where they can quickly and easily make the most popular UI updates.

This release also includes a special update to self-registration forms for our Symphony libraries to make them much more customizable. Aspen has special user groups for most ILSs that allow Aspen partners to share best practices, discuss integration topics, and prioritize Aspen features specific to their ILS. This feature was the top request of the Aspen Symphony User’s Group.

LiDA also got a new feature with support for system messages! These messages are very similar to system messages for Aspen Discovery and can be set up, scheduled, and managed alongside Discovery system messages in the Aspen Admin interfaces. System messages between Discovery and LiDA are also synched, so if a patron dismisses a message in LiDA, they won’t see that same message in Discovery.
