LiDA now includes reading history and full support for linked accounts

Some patrons will only ever use the library app, rarely or never logging in to the library’s online catalog. Therefore, it’s really important to make sure patrons have as many options as possible to manage their accounts from the app and that’s what we were aiming to do with the LiDA 23.01 release.”

The 23.01 release of Aspen LiDA adds several new patron features, including more functionality for linked accounts, reading history, and more.

One much requested feature that we’re happy to launch this month is the addition of multiple barcodes for linked accounts. Now when you go to the barcode screen in LiDA you’ll have access to the barcodes for all of your linked accounts. We also added a nice little feature where LiDA will automatically bring your device to full brightness on this screen so that barcodes can be more easily scanned. Other new functionality related to linked accounts is the ability to remove accounts that have linked to you and there is an app notification that will inform you when your account has been linked to by someone else.

As of the 23.01 release, LiDA also supports Reading History. In addition to viewing your complete reading history, you can also stop and start recording history, delete all titles or individual titles, and sort by title, author, last used, or format.

We’ve also added support for the single place hold button that Aspen Discovery has, so there’s no need for users to determine which edition of Pride and Prejudice to place on hold unless they want to.

All libraries using Aspen Discovery have the option to offer LiDA to their patrons either through the shared LiDA app or a library-branded version of LiDA.
