ByWater Solutions Collaborates with EBSCO to Enhance Koha Integration

ByWater Solutions, America’s forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, collaborated with EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) on a development aimed at helping Koha libraries. Libraries using the Koha Open Source ILS are now able to use new functionality to streamline the acquisitions process. The EDIFACT (EDI) Invoice Plug-In for EBSCO Journals, which allows Koha systems to fully integrate with EBSCO Journals, will now facilitate loading EDI Invoices into Koha.

Kyle Hall, Director of Development & Operations at ByWater Solutions recently commented on the integration.

EDIFACT provides such a great workflow improvement for library acquisitions departments and it’s so fantastic to have that integration with a vendor as popular as EBSCO!”

This development enhances the ability for Koha users to easily receive invoices from EBSCO journals. KOHA customers are now able to import EDIFACT Invoices from EBSCO, avoiding the need to manually enter the Invoice. This service not only saves time but also improves the efficiency of the acquisition’s workflow. The plug-in, which will work on Koha, will further enhance the workflow process.

Anne Campbell, EBSCO Library Automation Manager says

EBSCO is so excited to offer EDIFACT Invoices for Serials for our customers using KOHA. This integration service will add efficiency and time-savings to the serials acquisition workflow. We could not have done it without the support of ByWater and our customer test partners.”
