ByWater Solutions Announces September 2023 Community Giveback Winner

Each month, ByWater Solutions selects one library to be awarded $500. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals.

We are excited to announce our September 2023 winner of the ByWater Community Giveback, the Fletcher Memorial Library in Vermont!

The funds will be used to support the purchase of an updated travel guide collection and overall adult programming budget.

Jill Tofferi, Fletcher Memorial Library Director, commented:

It is time to update our Travel Guide collection. This was last done in 2018 with a $1000 grant. This has been the busiest summer EVER with requests for these guides. Coming our of Covid and now hit with storm July 11-12 stronger and much stronger than Irene, VT is once again a Federal disaster area. Our patrons are looking to get away and they want the books in their hands.

I would split these funds 60/40 to infuse our Large Print collection with some new titles as well. Ludlow is an aging population of full-time residents. Thanks for this opportunity!"
