ByWater Solutions Announces April 2024 Community Giveback Winner

Each month, ByWater Solutions selects one library to be awarded $500. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals.

We are excited to announce our April 2024 winner of the ByWater Community Giveback, Literacy Connects in Arizona!

The funds will be used to support the purchase of books to enhance the library's collection and to be used for the Reading Seed program. Literacy Connects' Reading Seed program offers an innovative solution – mobilizing the community to provide individualized, research-based mentoring to K-3 students in under-resourced, local schools. Every week throughout the school year, Reading Seed volunteers work one-to-one with children who are chosen by their schools as most likely to benefit from the program.

Debra Winstead, Assistant Librarian at Literacy Connects, commented:

The goals of the program are for children to increase reading proficiency, to develop healthy identities as readers and learners, and ultimately to positively impact third grade reading levels. With funds from ByWater Solutions, we would purchase quality, developmentally and culturally appropriate books to enhance our Library's collection."

We will select one library a month to donate $500 to their Non-profit 501c3 organization such as Friends of the Library, Library Foundation, or other funding entity. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals. We LOVE libraries. Our team is made up of librarians and library fanatics. We're always looking for ways to give back and create opportunities where we can to support libraries. This is a small token of thanks for all the hard work libraries do in their communities every day.
