Bossier Parish Libraries Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Support

ByWater completed the transition of the library’s over 220,000 bibs from Library.Solution and continues to provide support services for Koha.

We are most excited by the OPAC. We were immediately impressed with the look of our online catalog. It far exceeded any expectation. Our catalog is such an important part of our relationship with our community and representational of who we are and what we offer. As we have used the catalog more and are getting settled in, we are also seeing how easy it is for our community to access and use. Our catalog now properly reflects our branding and blends seamlessly with our website. There are so many features in the new catalog. Our community will have so much more available to them to manage their library accounts. Now our community will have a more complete picture of all the materials we have to offer by being able to see our electronic materials offered from OverDrive and hoopla from a simple keyword search by using the integrated API. Our chat feature has also been integrated into our catalog to help our borrowers navigate using the catalog or accessing their account. Some of the koha features that we most look forward to implementing in the near future are patron clubs and homebound services. Pretty much every request we have made to our Bywater koha support team has been received enthusiastically and implemented. We look forward to growing and expanding with our new ILS."
