The 24.02 release of Aspen Discovery and Aspen LiDA includes more than 100 updates for libraries including Palace Project integration for Discovery, event integration for LiDA, and so much more!

The Palace Project integration works with Aspen Discovery in the same way that other econtent integrations for apps such as Libby and Boundless work. When a patron finds a title they want to check out, they are presented with each of the options the library offers for reading that title. Once checked out, titles appear in the patron’s account for the length of the loan period and in the patron’s reading history.

Aspen LiDA now includes full integration with the same functionality and library event platforms that Aspen Discovery supports including Attend from Communico, LibCal from Springshare, and Library Calendar from Library Market. In addition to searching for and viewing all event details, patrons can also save events to their accounts. Event integration is managed through Aspen Discovery, so there’s no additional setup needed to get Discovery events in LiDA!

Of course that’s not all that’s in this release. Our academic libraries should definitely check out our Summon integration and the ability to export users lists and search results in RIS for citations. There are additional enhancements to Archives, lots of specific ILS integration updates, and many more small features and tweaks suggested by our partners.
