Monday Minutes: System Preference for Modification of Mandatory Fields

In this week's Monday Minutes, Kelly and Jessie discuss a new system preference that will assist libraries in identifying what fields a patron can make modifications on their account.

New System Preference

In 22.05, a new system preference is introduced in Koha to distinguish between what libraries need from patrons when self-registering and what fields they can modify in their already existing accounts. Prior to this, these were driven by the same system preference.

The new system preference: PatronSelfModificationMandatoryField will now control what fields patrons can modify in their accounts.

The system preference: PatronSelfRegistrationBorrowerMandatoryField will solely only be used for Patron Self-Registration.

Note:

Any fields that have been marked as mandatory in the PatronSelfRegistrationBorrowerMandatoryField, will be copied over to the new system preference, PatronSelfModificationMandatoryField upon upgrade. Libraries can make adjustments to these new system preferences when they are upgraded to 22.05.
