Koha Question of the Week: Can you export MARC records based on customized criteria?

Question: Can you export MARC records based on customized criteria?
Answer: Yes! Through the Cataloging module, staff can export their MARC Records through the tool Export Catalog Data. The library has the ability to limit this export by one or more of the following options:
- limit by bib number range
- limit by specific item type
- limit by a specific library branch or group of branches
- by a call number range
- by acquisitions date range
A library can also load a file of bibliographic numbers into this tool to easily identify a group of selected records.
The final options are for a library to export item data with the records. Options include:
- not exporting items
- remove items not owned by selected libraries
- not to export specific fields
The output format includes options for a .mrc or XML export and can be downloaded directly to your computer.
Exporting Authorities Records
Through the Cataloging module, staff can also export their Authority Records through the tool Export Catalog Data. The library has the ability to limit this export by one or more of the following options:
- limit by auth id number range
- limit by specific authority type
A library can also load a file of authids numbers into this tool to easily identify a group of selected authority records.
The final options are for a library to not to export specific fields.
The output format includes options for a .mrc or XML export and can be downloaded directly to your computer.
