Koha Upgrades
Koha 22.11: Enhanced Patron Searching
New patron search functionality
With Bug 29971 Remember selections across patron search pages, Koha will retain selected patrons across different searches or navigation between pages. This will allow staff to create patron lists from multiple searches or multiple pages of results with fewer clicks and to merge patrons from different searches without having to add them to a list first.
When searching for patrons in earlier versions of Koha, libraries could add one or more from a single search results page to a list. They could also merge them from a single search page or from a list, which made merging patrons who don’t appear in the same search results more cumbersome.
With 22.11, in addition to the ‘Add patron to list’ and ‘Merge patrons’ options that appear when patrons are selected, there is a ‘Patrons selected: #’ box. When another search is performed, or staff visits a different page of the search results, the originally-selected patrons are retained along with any patrons added from the new search results or page.
This means that staff can add patrons from multiple pages or searches to a list at one time, or can merge patrons from separate searches without having to first add them to a list.
Staff can clear the ‘remembered’ patrons at any time by clicking Clear in the ‘Patrons selected’ box. If not cleared manually, selections will clear automatically when the staff member logs out.
