The LCC International University Library Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha ( support, announced today that the LCC International University Library in Klaipƒóda, Lithuania is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

ByWater Solutions completed the migration for the LCC International University from Koha 3.2 to Koha 3.8 in June and will be providing ongoing support and hosting services for them. LCC International University marks the first ByWater partner to be located outside of North America.

The LCC International University Library has a collection of over 23,000 titles and their customized online catalog can be viewed here:

Jolanta Kaun, Head Librarian, commented on the decision to switch to ByWater for Koha support:

“We are actually having great time cooperating with ByWater Solutions and the migration processes were smooth and quick. I remember migrating from Follett to Koha in 2008 when there was not even a migration, or any kind of manual, check lists or suggested workflows! I cannot believe we succeeded then! Nowadays, with ByWater Solutions, everything looks so sophisticated! We are happy to have signed a support contract with ByWater Solutions and hope that our further partnership will be mutually useful.”

Brendan Gallagher, CEO of ByWater commented on the new partnership:

“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to partner with Jolanta and the staff of the LCC International University Library. LCC International University marks the first Koha migration and support partnership outside of North America for ByWater and we are very pleased with the way things went throughout this process. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with the LCC International University. ”
