Staff Spotlight
Staff Spotlight: Jessica Beno
Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Jessica Beno, Data Migration Librarian at ByWater Solutions.
Who is Jessica?
Jessica recently celebrated seven years as a Data Migration Librarian at ByWater Solutions! Over the past 7 years she has grown into a veritable data boss! Her colleagues describe her as “patient, kind and always there to help.” They go on to say that "she has a great sense of humor and is never afraid to roll up her sleeves and dig into messy data. Her wide-ranging understanding of data structures is nothing short of amazing.”
Nate Curulla, CRO at ByWater Solutions, commented:
Jess is machine when in comes to data wrangling and manipulation and is always willing to help a fellow co-worker or partner regardless of the task at hand. She is also never afraid of jumping into situations where our partner feels like the data goal is a lost cause."
Jessica received her BA from St. Xavier University and her MLIS from Dominican University’s School of Library and Information Science. She has worked for historical societies, museums, and archives across Chicagoland, but it was in her role as a corporate digital asset management associate where she developed her passion for data organization. It was with this passion and her love of libraries that she decided to continue her career as a migration librarian for ByWater Solutions. In her free time, Jessica enjoys staying active and spending her days outdoors.
Jessica's Favorite Library Memory
"One of my favorite childhood memories is going to a science event at the library where they froze a foam football in liquid nitrogen and shattered it to show how brittle it became. I kept a piece of the football for many years! I'm more of a digital library user now, but whenever I start a new implementation, I love digging into the data and finding all of the STEM and maker kits libraries have in their collection."
Thanks, Jessica, for all you do at ByWater Solutions!
