Staff Spotlight: Mark Noble
Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Mark Noble, Aspen Architect at ByWater Solutions.
Who is Mark?
Mark recently celebrated four years at ByWater Solutions! With Mark came the arrival of Aspen Discovery. Mark joined ByWater with a drive to grow Aspen in the library marketplace and the knowledge and know how to get there. Mark’s colleagues love working with him, and comment that he is "endlessly patient and always willing to dive into any problem needing to be solved. He is also always open to new ideas and adjusting to met evolving library needs.” They go on to say that "Mark juggles it all and we all learn so much about Aspen from him. He is great with partners and always makes them feel at ease and they know their support needs will be taken care of and their ideas heard. As a group, Mark lets each of us shine - everyone has a voice and an opinion and that is truly a gift he gives us all. It lets us grow and learn and fail and laugh and vent and still feel safe and valued.”
Nate Curulla, CRO at ByWater Solutions, commented:
Mark's addition to the ByWater family and contributions to the Aspen Community have been pivotal in the growth of our organization and has helped fast track our ability to partner with larger more complex library systems."
Mark graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering, but moved immediately into software development. More than half his career has been spent building software for libraries with the majority of the time spent working on Discovery software. He enjoys creating innovative new functionality to make library software work better for patrons and staff. In his spare time, Mark enjoys being outdoors running and hiking, traveling, and hanging out with his kids.
Mark's Favorite Open Source Memory
Throughout my career I've met some really amazing people in the library sphere. People I've met over a decade ago have become fast friends that I look forward to getting to see over a meal or a beer at conferences or when I happen to be in town. Other vendors I've met are always willing to meet to collaborate on new ideas and projects and have also become great town. Overall I love the library community where we can support each other and work to make amazing things for libraries and library patrons!"
Thanks, Mark, for all you do at ByWater Solutions!
