Staff Spotlight

Staff Spotlight: Margaret Hade

Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Margaret Hade, Implementations Project Manager at ByWater Solutions.

Who is Margaret?

Margaret (Mags) recently celebrated six years at ByWater Solutions, and started out in our support department. She has since moved into helping with implementations to ensure the nuts and bolts all line up during the process of bringing new libraries up on Koha. She is great at tracking down and clarifying the root of an issue and always puts partners first, striving to ensure that they know where they are in an implementation project to ensure fluid communication. Her broad knowledge of our operations has also been immensely helpful to new staff during their onboarding processes. This year, Mags was instrumental in organizing our development efforts in the final months of the Cuyahoga implementation. She created and maintained Cuyahoga's issue board, our developer's prioritization dashboard, and maintained contact through the process.

Nate Curulla, CRO at ByWater Solutions, commented:

Margaret is incredibly detail oriented and always has partner success in mind when tackling a problem or assisting with project goals. We are really looking forward to her growing in the project management role."

Margaret’s love affair with libraries began as a volunteer at her local public library when she was thirteen. Since then she’s worked in public, academic, and specialty libraries; interacting with library users and library software of all kinds. She earned her M.L.I.S. at the University of Denver and has a B.A. in History from The College of New Jersey. Since joining ByWater as a Support Lead Margaret has built relationships with staff and partners and now supports both as an Implementations Project Manager.

Margaret's Favorite Library Memory

One of my earliest and favorite library memories concerns going to my little town’s Public Library (the Harrington Park Public Library in Harrington Park, New Jersey) across the way from the Fire Department, with my dad. I thought it was the coolest place, the card catalog, the books, everything. In October they’d put out a huge basket of Halloween candy and for kids to enter a raffle to win it. I won the raffle not once, but twice, two years in a row! That certainly helped cement my love of libraries and chocolate!”

Thanks, Margaret, for all you do at ByWater Solutions!
