Staff Spotlight: Kalleen "Kal" Marquise

Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Kalleen "Kal" Marquise, Aspen Implementation Specialist at ByWater Solutions.

Who is Kal?

Originally Kal came to ByWater as our Outreach Coordinator, leveling up our game by making our content beautiful and greatly increasing our social media presence. In 2021 she moved on to Aspen Implementations and has flourished in that role, also taking on the Aspen Weekly publication, further capitalizing on her skills in outreach. Her co-workers say that "Kal is such a treasure to anyone who's lucky enough to work with her. She takes on some of our biggest implementations, consortiums with 100+ libraries, and makes sure that each and every library has a beautiful, customized Aspen site. She's also the queen of Aspen Weeklies, making sure that our partners have engaging content every single week. I don't know how she does it all, but I'm sure her stellar organizational skills and huge heart for libraries are a part of it."

Kal holds a MLIS from the University of South Florida and a BA in English from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). She has over seven years of experience working in public service in public and academic libraries. Kal is passionate about training and getting to know library partners far and wide. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring with her dog, and traveling to new places. Kal lives in St. Petersburg, Florida and enjoys its vibrant arts and community events.
