Staff Spotlight: Hebah Amin-Headley

Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Hebah Amin-Headley, Content Creator and Educator at ByWater Solutions.

Who is Hebah?

Hebah Amin-Headley is a Content Creator and Educator at ByWater Solutions, and she recently celebrated her two year workaversary! Hebah started her journey at ByWater in Implementation Support and was recently promoted to a Content Creator and Educator, a role in which she shines in producing high-quality educational content including frequent Blog posts and Koha Question of the Week. Over the past two years Hebah has closed close to 1,000 support tickets, many of those being reports for our partners. Her colleagues describe her as a patient and kind teacher who is always willing to help her coworkers.

Hebah spent a large portion of her formative years in libraries but took a few years after college to realize that's where she belonged in her professional career. She received her MLIS from the University of Missouri and has spent the last nearly 10 years in public libraries. When not working, she shares her life with one spouse, one future reader, and two spoiled cats. Her hobbies include knitting, crocheting, spinning her own yarn, reading, writing, and gaming.

Hebah's Favorite Library Memory

"So many of my favorite childhood memories involve libraries and reading. During weekly trips to the library, I'd fill up a canvas bag with as many books as I could carry, and summer reading was always a challenge to see how many books I could read, above and beyond any requirements for prize eligibility. During a trip to visit my hometown a while back, the first landmarks I showed my spouse were the various library branches (yes, plural) that were such core fixtures of my childhood."
