Staff Spotlight: Elise Konya

Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Elise Konya, Project Coordinator at ByWater Solutions.

Who is Elise?

Elise recently celebrated two years working at ByWater Solutions! Since joining the team two years ago, Elise has jumped right into her role and quickly got a handle and understanding of our projects with confidence that translates to our partners whenever she interacts with them. Her ability to keep all of our projects in line and on track has been particularly appreciated over the past few months! Her colleagues say that "Elise is a powerhouse! Her ability to keep us all moving in the same direction and on time is phenomenal. She does it with a kindness and understanding that is remarkable. She is appreciated by all the imp team members and we would collectively be lost without her!”

Elise first volunteered at her local public library in the fifth grade. Twelve years later, she wandered back into the library to volunteer and discovered a career that surprised nobody but herself. She earned her BA in English from the University of Missouri and, after a decade in the stacks of the St. Louis County Library, started at ByWater as a member of the support department. Now she coordinates migrations and other projects for the Implementations Team. Elise lives with her partner, stepson, and two cats in Illinois; in her free time, she enjoys reading, playing games, and asking folks what pen they're using.

Elise's Favorite Part of Working at ByWater

It's incredible working for an organization where our mission aligns so closely with that of the libraries we support. At least once a week I hear someone at ByWater accidentally refer to our partners as our patrons; we all show up to work with the same community service mindset that I see mirrored in our library partners. It's also so meaningful to me to be able to help partners prepare to go live on a new system, and I love that our team here is committed to making the implementation process a positive experience."
