Staff Spotlight: Adam Brooks

Each month, we highlight one of our talented team members. This month, our Staff Spotlight will focus on Adam Brooks, Koha Sales Consultant at ByWater Solutions.

Who is Adam?

Adam recently celebrated 2 years at ByWater Solutions and also worked at ByWater from 2017-2020. Since his return in 2022, Adam has brought on dozens of new Koha, Libki and Aspen libraries totaling over $2M in new sales! One of Adam’s strengths in sales is how he draws on his extensive experience from his time as a library director to highlight the benefits of working with ByWater and the products we support.

Adam has an M.L.I.S. and a BA in Psychology from Kent State University. He worked in public libraries for over 15 years, working up from reference to director. He has worked in both rural and major urban libraries. During his library career, he migrated 2 different libraries to Koha, and encouraged several others to do the same. Prior to his career as a librarian, Adam worked jobs ranging from busboy to labor market analyst. In his free time, he enjoys running and triathlons, fishing, camping and the Incredible Hulk.

Adam's Favorite Part of Working at ByWater

During my career in public libraries, I was involved in migrating several libraries to Koha and other open source software. At ByWater, I've been able to continue doing that on a grander scale and visit a lot more libraries."
