September 2024 Librarian of the Month

Every month ByWater Solutions recognizes a librarian that has made an impact on their library and community. We are happy to announce the September 2024 Librarian of the Month is Daniel Barden, Technical Services Director at the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Ohio! Daniel was nominated by Kristi Krueger, ILS Librarian at the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

Kristi praised Daniel for his tireless dedication to the library's successful implementation of Koha and Aspen and its continued success. Kristi said,

Daniel’s leadership during our migration and first year on Koha and Aspen has been excellent, but for this nomination I’d like to highlight how he has fostered and led a celebration of our one-year anniversary on Koha and Aspen.

Daniel really wanted to do something for all CCPL staff to thank them for their hard work making the move to Koha and Aspen successful. He reached out to our marketing team and arranged for all staff to receive a custom commemorative pin and sticker. Our anniversary celebration also included a fun Koha and Aspen quiz, a raffle, and a collection of staff reflections on how the new software has improved workflows. Daniel made sure we made August 28^th a day to celebrate together as an organization."
