Featured creators and stories: a facemeeting on open source for libraries

Greetings ByWater Blog readers and news followers!

Today’s innovative search tools allow libraries to re-qualify and extend their holdings by offering patrons a single search interface to all library resources including scholarly material, catalog holdings, electronic databases and much more.

On Tuesday October 1, 2013 Koha adopter and ByWater partner, The American University of Rome (in collaboration with the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce)will host a one day conference to examine new trends in the evolving domain of discovery and search tools. They will bring together a panel of experts in the field, including Demian Katz and Eoghan Ó Carragáin, main developers of VuFind; Paul Poulain, developer of Koha; and Andrea Bollini, DSpace committer. Moderator will be Paola Gargiulo.

The event will include three parallel workshops in the afternoon, including a live video conference link with Demian Katz of Villanova University. If you are interested in attending you can get more information here:http://en.pusc.it/bib/featured-creators-and-stories.
