Northern New Hampshire Library Cooperative Chooses ByWater Solutions’ Koha Support

ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that Northern New Hampshire Library Cooperative (NNHLC) is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

ByWater Solutions completed the migration for the Northern New Hampshire Library Cooperative this summer and will be providing ongoing Koha support and hosting services to them. Their custom OPAC can be viewed at http://nnhlc.bywatersolutions.com

Jay Rancourt, Library Director at Cook Memorial Library spoke of the migration process and the library’s future with Koha:

“The migration to Koha was both challenging and rewarding. It was very helpful to have three of us consulting and collaborating as we built our customizations and learned Koha’s functionality. I particularly appreciate the layering of detail to explore. My circulation staff have a simple, user-friendly interface with which to do their jobs, whereas the library director as ‘superlibrarian’ has access to the whole system and all its permutations. I’m looking forward to learning about future upgrades.”

Mary Cronin, Library Director at Madison Library added:

“As ‘superlibrarian’, I welcome learning what makes the system tick, and having the freedom to experiment before committing to changes. Koha’s flexibility as a system for our new cooperative has generated valuable discussions of policies and procedures along with the philosophy that guides them. Patrons like the improved account interface, and are just starting to grasp the benefits of a shared catalog. From conversations that have already happened, I feel that patron feedback (and enthusiasm) will guide a lot of decisions as our three libraries develop our cooperative relationship.”
