The Health Sciences Library at New York Medical College goes live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that the Heath Sciences Library at New York Medical College, of Valhalla, NY. is now live on Koha! ByWater Solutions completed the migration of the library’s 40,000 plus holdings from Voyager and is providing ongoing Koha support and hosting services to them. The library’s implementation of Koha also interfaces with the Summon Discovery System that is being utilized by the library. The Health Sciences Library (HSL) of New York Medical College (NYMC) serves the three schools of New York Medical College and affiliated members of the NYMC community and their programs at approximately two dozen clinical sites. In serving this diverse clientele the HSL offers a full range of services and facilities: comfortable study space for students, group study rooms, up-to-date computing facilities and networks, and training rooms on campus. A wide array of the most appropriate resources are purchased, many of which are remotely accessible to our students, residents and faculty, who are spread geographically from Staten Island to Kingston to Danbury, CT. Expert health sciences librarians have developed training programs that are designed to meet the current and emerging information management needs of our community. In addition, the HSL is committed to conducting outreach programs for the seven county Hudson Valley region of New York State.
