Museum Hill Libraries Choose ByWater Solutions’ Koha Support
ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that the Museum of International Folk Art and Museum of Indian Arts and Culture Libraries in Santa Fe, New Mexico are now live with their installation of the Koha open source ILS.
ByWater Solutions has completed the migration for the Museum Hill Libraries and will be providing ongoing Koha Support and Hosting for them. Their custom mobile-friendly OPACs can be viewed at http://library.internationalfolkart.org/ and http://library.indianartsandculture.org//.
Caroline Dechert, Librarian and Archivist, spoke of their migration process:
“We converted to Koha with support from ByWater from an outdated, non-MARC database system. Throughout the conversion I was daily grateful for ByWater’s creative skills in generating viable MARC records from messy data. Post-conversion, we’ve found that hosted open source is, as we expected, the best of both worlds. If, like us, you want open source software but don’t have the in-house IT support to implement it, then this may be your solution.”
“Bringing on new partners is always exciting for us at ByWater,‚Äù started CEO, Brendan Gallagher, “but it’s especially pleasing when we can offer services to libraries who were previously unable to offer cutting edge automation services to their patrons within their budget. We look forward to working with Museum Hill Librarieson continuing the services offered by Koha.‚Äù
