Mercyhurst University Library Chooses ByWater Solutions’ Koha Support
ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that Mercyhurst University’s Hammermill Library in Erie, PA is now live with their installation of the Koha open source ILS.
ByWater Solutions has completed the migration of theHammermill Library’s 300,000 plus bibliographic records and will be providing ongoing Koha Support for them. Their custom mobile-friendly OPAC can be viewed at http://hamlet.mercyhurst.edu/.
The licensing and technical support costs for proprietary ILSes became problematic for the library and triggered the need to look at open-source options. As the premier open-source system and with the reputation of its community as precedence, the decision to select Koha was simple. The staff of Mercyhurst conducted an extensive RFP process with competing ILS vendors and ultimately chose Bywater Solutions to host their Koha system.
Rebecca Crago Barwell, Systems and Teaching Librarian, stated:
