Lane Library at Ripon College Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha (www.koha-community.org) support, announced today that the Lane Library at Ripon College is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

The Lane Library at Ripon College houses approximately 185,000 items and their customized catalog can be viewed at: http://catalog.ripon.bywatersolutions.com

Carl Ziebell, Technical Services Librarian and Andrew Prellwitz, User Services Librarian and Lane Library Chair, had this to say about their decision to choose Koha with support from ByWater Solutions:

“Lane Library at Ripon College made the decision to switch to Koha hosted by ByWater Solutions in 2011, because we felt that it was a good philosophical match with Ripon’s DIY ethic. Koha provides the flexibility the library staff needs and the web 2.0 tools students desire. The updated interface has impressed our students, faculty and staff alike and continues to improve due to the flexibility of open source. We’re excited to be a part of the Koha community and we look forward to the many developments to come.”

About Ripon College:

Ripon College is a liberal arts and sciences college located in the small city of Ripon, Wisconsin. Founded in 1851, Ripon is a blend of tradition and innovation. Small-group seminars are held in beautiful century-old buildings with windows that look across our lovely tree-shaded campus. Our students, numbering about 1,100, come from most of the states and from countries around the world. We offer a wide variety of residences, from traditional residence halls to apartment-style living, and more than 90% of our students choose to live on campus. Ripon students participate in more than 70 campus organizations, and they compete in 23 varsity sports. They study off-campus, too, taking part in research programs, internships, and study abroad. For more information about the Ripon College, please visit: http://ripon.edu
