Fall 2022 Conference Wrap-Up

Members of the ByWater Solutions team hit the road this fall and attended multiple state conferences, and Jordan Fields, Aspen Product Librarian, presented at the Internet Librarian Conference in California!

ByWater Solutions had booths at the following conferences: the Wyoming Library Association conference, the Ohio Library Council Convention and Expo, the Iowa Library Association Conference, the Illinois Library Association Conference, the Pennsylvania Library Association Conference, the Virginia Library Association Conference, and the New England Library Association Annual Conference.

Kelly and Jessie were even able to record a special episode of Monday Minutes live from Iowa!

Wyoming Library Association Conference

The Wyoming Library Association Conference was held from September 29th through September 30th in downtown Casper, Wyoming. There were about 200 attendees at the conference. Bill Kessler, Aspen Sales Consultant, attended the conference and commented, "This was my first time visiting Wyoming and I was amazed by the beautiful landscape."

Ohio Library Council Conference and Expo

The Ohio Library Council Conference and Expo was held from September 28th through September 30th at the Glass City Center in downtown Toledo. There were 700 attendees at the conference. Laura O'Neil, ByWater Support Advocate and former Ohio Librarian, and Adam Brooks, Koha Sales Consultant, represented ByWater Solutions. The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library hosted the conference reception, and Adam Brooks commented that it was "probably the best library hosted event I've ever attended!"

Iowa Library Association Conference

The Iowa Library Association Conference was held from October 12th through October 14th at the Coralville Convention Center in Coralville, Iowa. Jessica Zairo, Director of Library Sales and Outreach, and Kelly McElligott, Library Accounts Coordinator, both represented ByWater Solutions at the Conference. Jessica Zairo commented,

We had such a fabulous time in Iowa seeing our partners and meeting some new friends! The Conference Staff from the Iowa Library Association did an amazing job making sure the vendors were connected with the attendees in every way imaginable from scavenger hunts to trivia and joint meals. We can't wait for 2023!"

Kelly McElligott commented,

The amazing opportunity to attend a library conference brings the excitement of seeing our wonderful library partners and also to highlight, educate, and show off new features in the Open Source software that we support."

Illinois Library Association Conference

The Illinois Library Association Conference was held from October 18th through 20th at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Bill Kessler, Aspen Sales Consultant, represented ByWater Solutions at the Conference. Aaron Skog from SWAN Library Services, a ByWater partner, gave a poster session entitled "The Three Pillars: The Foundation of Library Resource Sharing in Illinois."

Bill Kessler commented:

It was so great to see so many of our partners in person and hear about the amazing ways they are engaging with their patrons."

Pennsylvania Library Association Conference

The Pennsylvania Library Association Conference was held from October 16th through 19th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Over 500 attendees were at the conference. Adam Brooks, Koha Sales Consultant, represented ByWater Solutions at the Conference. Many attendees at the conference complimented ByWater on its Klassmates program.

Virginia Library Association Conference

The Virginia Library Association Conference was held from October 19th through 21st at the Norfolk Waterside Marriot in Norfolk, Virginia. Adam Brooks, Koha Sales Consultant, represented ByWater Solutions at the Conference. There were over 500 attendees at the conference.

New England Library Association Annual Conference

The New England Library Association Annual Conference was held from October 23rd through 25th in Manchester, New Hampshire. There were about 450 attendees at the conference. Nathan Curulla, CRO, represented ByWater Solutions at the conference and commented,

I always love attending the NELA conference to interact with our current and future partner libraries and this year was no exception! I appreciate all of our partners stopping by to share their positive experiences in using both Koha and Aspen, and it was a great opportunity for networking with other library companies to ensure we provide the best seamless integration of third party products on the market."

Internet Librarian 2022

Jordan Fields, Aspen Product Librarian at ByWater Solutions, attended and presented at the Internet Librarian in Monterey, California. Jordan gave a presentation with Scott Brandwein, Bibliographic Services Manager at SWAN Library Services, called "Coming Together: Library Discovery at Scale."
