Librarian of the Month
December 2020 Librarian of the Month
Every month ByWater Solutions recognizes a librarian that has made an impact on their library and community. We are happy to announce the December 2020 Librarian of the Month, Kati Fink, Library Director at Hathaway Brown School, Shaker Heights, OH.
Kati was nominated by her team member, Toni Cross.
"Since she first came to Hathaway Brown she has worked to open the library up to our students, even students who don't see themselves as readers. She shared the joy of being in the space by creating book trailers, sweepstakes, and even creating a mobile book cart that she uses to walk around the school and check books out to students on the go.
Even before the events of this summer, Kati was working to diversify our collection so that every student could see themselves in the library. The booklist that she and the library team assembled have been a joy to read and offer so many windows and mirrors. With the events of this year she has never missed a beat with her book displays, offering novels of social justice, radical acceptance, inclusion, self-care, and finding the humor and joy in the world. Kati truly loves what she does, and we love her for doing it. Even if she isn't recognized as librarian of the month on this website, she is librarian of the year (along with the Prime librarian, Kristen Zajac) here at HB!"
Thank you, Kati, for all you do! And Congratulations!
Thank you!!! I’m so honored! It has been wonderful to work with Bywater and Koha." -Kati Fink
