Coming to Koha 3.10: Catalog by Color
We’re all working hard on preparing for the release of Koha 3.10 next month! One thing I’m doing is updating the Koha 3.10 Manual so that it’s as up to date as it can be when the new release comes out. Last week I added a new appendix to the manual that I wanted to share with you all.
One new feature in Koha 3.10 is an icon set made up of colors. This means that you can use colors as the icon for any authorized value. My goal here was to add a way for you to catalog the colors of your materials! The appendix I added to the manual gives you instructions for changing your collection code into a color field.
Adding this value to your catalog is going to require touching every item you want to add the color to (or doing some batch modifications), so it’s not going to be a quick change, but it is a pretty cool addition to Koha that I know several libraries will find a use for.
Let me know in the comments how you hope to use this new icon set in your Koha installation!!
