Clatsop Community College Joins the Chinook Library Network and Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha (www.koha-community.org) support, is happy to welcome the Dora Badollet Library at Clatsop Community College to the Chinook Library Network. Clatsop Community College Library is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system with continued support by ByWater Solutions.

The Chinook Library Network, a newly formed group of public and community college libraries sharing a catalog, now includes 7 libraries in Oregon, the shared public catalog can be viewed at http://www.chinooklibraries.org.

The Dora Badollet Library at Clatsop Community College itself holds approximately 35,000 items and a host of online resources.

Candice Walker, Library Director, commented on their migration experience with ByWater:

“Moving to Koha has been a huge improvement for our library. Our former, server-based ILS was clunky, hard to maintain and update for a small college, and never provided solid customer support. Within the first day of going live with Koha, we saw a drastic improvement on both the front end with users, as well as the back end of the system for staff. And, most importantly, ByWater provides excellent customer service. The entire move to Koha has been a relatively smooth and head-ache free process. We are a happier library, one that provides better service, and one that can now evolve more fully with shifting information trends , providing better access and more flexibility for the user.‚Äù

About The Chinook Library Network:
The Chinook Library Network is a newly formed network of independent city, county and community college libraries working together through a shared catalog. The network is administered by the Lincoln County Library District and came into being to broaden the base of materials or number of items available to our library users. The libraries that join the network all agree to share materials with the other libraries in the network and patrons may check out materials at any network libraries. The Chinook Library Network is connected through either a county courier system or the statewide courier (Orbis Cascade Alliance).
