CALIcon 2015

I was honored to be invited to join Rutgers University’s presentation at CALIcon 2015. Caroline Young and John Joergensen gave a presentation about their recent migration to Koha. John provided the business case for the switch to Koha and open source and Caroline spoke about the library’s role in migrating the data. I was able to talk about the nitty gritty data manipulations that we do with the data we receive. I probably should have warned John and Caroline, but I can talk for hours about data and data manipulations. Thankfully, I remembered to wear a wristwatch and the session did not go over time.

CALIcon was a fascinating conference with a huge variety of attendees. The conference is about “Law School Computing” and attendees range from law professors, IT staff at law schools and law librarians. Although there are 200+ attendees, it is a very intimate conference where it is easy to network and get to know your fellow attendees.
