ByWater Solutions Welcomes Ian Walls as Folio Implementation Lead
ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter, is happy to welcome Ian Walls as FOLIO Implementation Lead. Ian will join the ByWater Solutions team in assisting new partners in the transition to FOLIO LSP.
Ian began his love for Koha and Open Source when he was at New York University Health Sciences Libraries. His projects included migrating the library's ILS to Koha. He then joined the ByWater Solutions team from 2010-2012 as the Lead Development Specialist before heading over to the University of Massachusetts Amherst as the Web Services and Emerging Technologies Librarian.
While at UMass, Ian participated in the redesign of the library website using SilverStripe, implemented CORAL (open source ERM), and set up authentication with Shibboleth. His last project consisted of wiring together the catalog (Aleph) with ILLiad, Ares and LibGuides into a single, My Library Account view for users. Ian recently commented on joining the ByWater team:
l am really looking forward to doing something impactful and meaningful for our partners. And coming to work again at ByWater Solutions.
