The American University in Dubai Goes Live on ByWater Solutions and Edutech Koha Support
ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that The American University in Dubai, is now live on the Koha open source integrated library system.
ByWater Solutions completed the migration of the Libraries’ more than 240,000 titles from their Millennium system and is providing ongoing support services to the library in cooperation with Edutech, a library services provider located in the United Arab Emirates. The local team at Edutech will be providing onsite support services to the library as well as handling all tier one support requests. The AUD Library’s customized online catalog can be viewed at: http://koha.aud.edu/

About the AUD Library:
The Library at the American University in Dubai provides books, academic journals and electronic resources to enrich the university’s educational program. The AUD’s Library’s English language collection is approximately 240,000 volumes, both print and e-books. The Library provides access to around 34 online databases offering over 30,000 full-text journals, magazines, international newspapers and e-resources. The Library also provides more than 250 print journals, magazines and newspapers. The collection is tailored to benefit disciplines in which AUD grants degrees.
AUD’s library staff is committed to the student. Their knowledge of information resources, professionalism and willingness to assist, provides a learning environment where students feel comfortable knowing they can always receive help. Professional library staff instructs students on the best search techniques and offer advice about which resources to use for their academic work. Course-integrated library sessions are provided to ensure that students develop the skills needed to research the full range of information resources.
