American Academy in Rome Chooses ByWater Solutions’ Koha Support
ByWater Solutions, an open source community contributor and America’s forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that the Arthur & Janet C. Ross Library at the American Academy in Rome, of Rome, Italy, is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.
ByWater Solutions completed the migration for the American Academy in Rome last year and will be providing ongoing Koha support and hosting services to them. Their custom mobile-friendly OPAC can be viewed at http://library.aarome.org.
Sebastian Hierl, Drue Heinz Librarian at the Arthur & Janet C. Ross Library, spoke of the transition to and future development of Koha:
“We are delighted with our new Open Source Koha ILS and ByWater’s support. Our users have quickly adapted and we have received only positive feedback so far. In particular, the faceted searching, the option to browse the shelves virtually, and the direct links to Google and WorldCat are met with enthusiasm. On the staff side, we deeply appreciate the web-based interface and flexibility of the system. One of our main reasons for selecting Koha and ByWater support is the continuous development of Koha and the option of joining together with the community to implement new features. For example, we are eager to see the new browse feature implemented to provide our users with the option to browse the library’s holdings by author, title, or subject.”
