Monday Minutes: Item Bookings Kohacon 24
In this week's Monday Minutes, Nick and Jessie are live from KohaCon with Fiona and Martin from PTFS-Europe to talk about Item Bookings.
In the Monday Minutes: Item Bookings in June, we showed you how Item Bookings worked. Today, we will show off future developments with bookings.
Item Bookings
A few questions have come up since this enhancement was released as to what the difference is between a bookable item and a hold. Fiona from PTFS-Europe explains the following.
- Hold: Allows a patron to place a bibliographic title or an item on hold. That item will then move into the holds queue, holds to pull or be triggered by a check-in.
- Booking: Think of a booking like a reservation. It is initiated by a staff member from the staff interface in Koha. The booking allows staff to select a future date and time with a pickup location. A report is run to list the available bookings by date to collect.
