Metabase

Monday Minutes: Metabase

In this week's Monday Minutes, Jessie and Kelly are joined by Ian Walls who talks all about Metabase. Metabase is an open source data analytics tool that turns your data from Koha (or other products) into graphs and visual reports. It allows staff to make data-driven decisions and show off visualizations of your data.

Metabase

Metabase allows your staff to explore multiple data sources with simple controls that can generate reports and visualizations. Below are a few ways your staff can integrate your Koha system with Metabase.

  • Questions are queries plus their visualization. You can ask questions using Metabase’s graphical query builder, or create a native/SQL query.
  • Dashboards group questions and present them on a single page. You can think of dashboards as shareable reports that feature a set of related questions. Dashboards can also be public. Here is an example of our partners at McKinney Public Library who are displaying the statistics in their public dashboard from Metabase. Click on Statistics on the Menu.
