Question: What Happens to an Item Group if All Items in it are Deleted?
Answer: 22.11 introduced the capability to create item groups on one record for libraries that group multiple volumes or editions of a title on one record, in part to give patrons more granularity in placing holds without requiring item-level holds from the OPAC.
So what happens if a library has item groupings for three years of travel guides or test prep books and needs to weed the oldest of those when a new edition comes out? If all of the items in an item group on a record are deleted, the item group is also automatically deleted once it's no longer in use.
And as a reminder, the two system preferences for this functionality are EnableItemGroups and EnableItemGroupHolds.
