Koha Question of the Week: If Another Vendor or Service asks for Holding Information Mapping, How Do I Answer?

Each Friday, we will bring you a new Koha Question of the Week. We will select real questions that we receive and share the answers with you!

Question: If Another Vendor or Service asks for Holding Information Mapping, How Do I Answer?

Answer: Often, when libraries are in the process of migrating to Koha or adding a new third-party connection like an ILL network, their other service vendors may ask for updated mapping information in Koha. This is typically item-level information, which lives in the 952 tag in Koha. Fortunately, this information is readily available in the Koha wiki, with the most commonly-asked-for ones bolded for finding easily and explanations of each field and what they correspond to in Koha.

This should answer many of those mapping questions, but for anything more complex or for a piece of information that doesn't neatly map to something provided, we can work with partners to find a spot to store that data.
