Question: How do I clear my cache?

Answer: Great question!

We generally recommend a library clears their cache the morning after they have been upgraded. So let's break this down:

Web Browser- Google Chrome

Each web browser is a little different in the process that you will need to perform to clear your cache.

A shortcut when in a browser, Ctrl, Shift, and Delete- if a user clicks these buttons all at the same time, the browser will bring the user right to the exact page to clear the cache! This works in both Google Chrome and Firefox!

Then you will choose to clear your cache. Recommended is to clear all the data, but specifically important is the cached files.

If you don't do the keyboard shortcut outlined above, from an open Google Chrome browser, click the 3 dots next to the profile name on the browser.

From the dropdown options, choose More Tools. From this list, choose "Clear Browsing Data". This will bring you to the same screen as the image outlined above.

IMPORTANT: Be sure and close/quit the browser and restart it after clearing the cache and cookies.

Firefox

The same keyboard shortcut works for Firefox, Ctrl, Shift, Delete. Here is an image of what will appear on the screen:

Firefox defaults to the time range, "the last hour", one would recommend adjusting the time range to be "everything" instead. Once you adjust the time frame, click okay.

If not using the keyboard shortcuts, go to the top area of the Firefox browser on the right-hand side, and there were will be three lines. Click those three lines, choose Settings.

From the Settings page, choose Privacy and Security on the left-hand side. Scroll down to "Cookies & Site Data"

Click Clear- and you are all set!

If on a Windows computer, close and re-open Firefox to save your changes. If on an Apple computer, go to the Firefox menu on the top menu bar and select Quit for the changes to take effect.

Microsoft Edge

If using Microsoft Edge, click the Tools menu (three dotted lines in the upper-right corner), and open the Settings menu.

Click Privacy, search, and services on the left-side menu. Then under the section Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.

Close Microsoft Edge completely for your changes to take effect.
