Question: Can you clone or duplicate an existing bibliographic record?
I want to quickly duplicate a record to create a new edition of a title. Is that possible?
Answer
Yes, you can create a duplicate of a similar record and edit the necessary pieces to create a new record. To duplicate an existing record, a user would click ‘Edit as new (duplicate)’ from the ‘Edit’ menu on the bibliographic record.
- Navigate to the desired bibliographic record
- Click ‘Edit as new (duplicate)’ from the Edit Menu
This will create a new record you are "Editing duplicate record of # bibnumber". This is a quick and easy solution when you need to close or make a duplicate of a record. Remember to update your record and save!
