Aspen Weekly: Facet Configurations

In our goal to make Aspen Discovery easy to navigate and customize for libraries, we’ve recently made some changes to configuring facets that are pretty exciting! While we’ve covered customizing facets for grouped works in a previous Aspen Weekly - you may have noticed this functionality branching out into other areas of Aspen as well. Event, Open Archives, and Websites all have facet settings that are fully customizable now (hooray!), so let’s dig in!

Aspen Weekly: Video Tutorial - Linked Accounts

Linked Accounts allows patrons with access to multiple library cards to easily view and manage their library card barcodes, checkouts, holds, and fines. This is great for families with multiple children’s cards, caregivers, neighbors, and any other situation where a user needs to manage multiple accounts. In this video, we walk you through how Linked Accounts work in Aspen!

Aspen Weekly: Multiple Item Types on One Bibliographic Record

Making it easy for a library to display what they have to offer, regardless of whatever those standards may be, aligns with one of our core goals of maximizing user engagement with their libraries. Recently, we’ve made some new changes that will make displaying records accurately even easier for many of our partners. These changes should also make it easier for patrons to find what they need from the comfort of their home!

Aspen Weekly: Linked Accounts Part 2

In our last Aspen Weekly on this subject, we introduced the new ways you and your patrons can use linked accounts. Some improvements we made included removing linked accounts, disabling account linking, and updated messaging to make things clearer for your patrons. Aspen Weekly: Linked Accounts Part 1

In late October, we held an Aspen community meeting about Linked Accounts and what ideas, suggestions, and updates Aspen libraries would like to see with this functionality. In the 22.12 release, we began to roll out these updates. In today’s Aspen Weekly, we provide an overview of Linked Accounts and the updates in the new release.
