Using Google Authentication in Koha
One of the great new enhancements in Koha 16.05 is the ability to use Google’s OAuth 2.0 API to authenticate into Koha. In this Koha tutorial we will show you how to set up Google Authentication.
The first step to setting up Google authentication is to visit the Google Developer’s Console to obtain OAuth 2.0 credentials, such as a client ID and a client secret, that are known both to Google and to your application.
You will need to create a project and establish your credentials. The Koha Manual section on Google OpenID Connect will walk you through how to set all of this up.
Once you completed all the steps, you can populate the Koha system preferences for Google OpenID Connect with this information. You’ll find these system preferences in the Administration section of the Global System preferences.
And voilà! You’re all set to use Google authentication with Koha!
