ByWater Solutions Announces March 2025 Community Giveback Winner

Each month, ByWater Solutions selects one library to be awarded $500. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals.

We are excited to announce our March 2025 winner of the ByWater Community Giveback, the The Denver Botanic Gardens Helen Fowler Library in Denver, Colorado.

The funds will be used to support staff enrichment and continuing education.

Allaina Wallace, Associate Director of Education and Library, Head Librarian, commented:

As a special botanical library, we are in a unique position to make a difference in the lives of the next generation of people who will care for our planet, make decisions about our environment, and establish new inspired communities. As our library continues to grow and has a greater impact on our members and public visitors, it is essential for our staff to keep up to date with library trends and changes. These funds will be used to support continuing education or conference opportunities for library staff to help keep us informed and encourage new ideas as we strive to maintain a high level of service for our community.

The history of botany is also the history of colonization. We want to transform our collection and make it more relevant to and inclusive of our community. We want to uncover the long-hidden diversity held within our library and share it with our community. Training and networking opportunities for our Technical Services Librarian will help her create a more inclusive and accessible library catalog."

About the ByWater Community Giveback

We will select one library a month to donate $500 to their Non-profit 501c3 organization such as Friends of the Library, Library Foundation, or other funding entity. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals. We LOVE libraries. Our team is made up of librarians and library fanatics. We're always looking for ways to give back and create opportunities where we can to support libraries. This is a small token of thanks for all the hard work libraries do in their communities every day.
