Attending TLA was a very exciting for me because it was my first big library conference, my first time to Texas and I got to meet more of the ByWater family in person.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the conference. I had my own perceptions of what I thought library conferences would be like and it ended up being a lot more then I had expected. There were so many exhibits from publishers, authors, people selling clothes and jewelry, vendors that provide many services for libraries big and small and everything in between. There was just about everything you could think of, even a clown on stilts walking around with a very big walker dressed as a old man. I didn’t realize that there were so many seminars and talks about so many topics. That is the one thing that is unfortunate for myself because I wasn’t able to make it to any of them but I will be making sure I attend some at the next conferences I will be attending. I also got to meet some of our Texas library partners which is great because I got to hear about their experiences with the ByWater team and how happy they’ve been since they joined us.
This trip to TLA was also a chance for me to meet more of the ByWater family which was very exciting. It was great to be able to talk with them in person instead of remotely and be able to get to get to know them even better. We shared plenty of laughs and stories and it just showed me why we have a very large following and why many libraries have wanted to move to using ByWater Solutions’s services.
I look forward to the upcoming conferences I will be attending and being able to meet the rest of the ByWater team. The thing I keep thinking about is if TLA was this big and had that wide arrange of exhibitors and attendees then I can’t even fathom what ALA will be like which I am very excited for this June.
